I'm doing better than usual. I don't try to figure out how views or reads translate to dollars, I just look at income. There was only one month this year that I made less than $100, some of that was due to bonuses though. I had one viral and one semi-viral story in the last couple of months that, together, have earned me over $3,000 so far. I think it's too complicated a process to pin down. I wish I knew what stories will do well and which ones don't, but it's always a surprise. Maybe niche writers are seeing a reduction because I think people who are niche readers tend to follow publications rather than people and Medium's emphasis is off publications. I don't stick to one niche. My highest earning stories were in Health and Food, two topics I don't cover very often.
