If my husband dies before me, I would absolutely never remarry, but then I’m 65 and we’ve been together 47 years, married for 40. If he becomes ill, I will care for him. He’s earned it. Having cared for his mother in her last five years and watched what she and my mother did for our fathers, I know all too well what’s involved. I’m not doing that for anyone else. If I need company, I’ll get a dog.
