I’d like to suggest that Illumination add “humor” as a category. Slackjaw’s 2020 humor writing challenge just concluded and there are over 400 writers whose stories were not chosen for publication.

Humor publications on Medium tend to cater to a young, tech-savvy demographic, so those whose stories have a universal appeal, or an appeal to a different demographic, never seem to be chosen.

Although there is not currently a humor section on Illumination, I took a chance and submitted a humor story today. If you did create a humor section, I think it would be a great way to add writers to Illumination. Thank you for your consideration.
