I would be miserable in a senior living community, L.A. I love my garden and being able to plant whatever I want. I can even hang up washing if I want to. HOAs are the very devil. I don't want my life dictated by committee. My home is paid for. It's brick with a slate roof so the maintenance is low. It's a three-bedroom, two bath cottage, bigger than we need maybe but we love it and hope to be here until they haul us out feet first!
