I took lessons when I was quite young from a lovely old Victorian lady with a Gibson Girl hairstyle and a cameo broach. I never got beyond simple tunes. I tried again when I was older with a different teacher, but I lacked the discipline to practice. My parents bought a lovely piano in hopes that at least one of their five daughters would become proficient. None of us advanced beyond Broadway tunes and Christmas carols, but at least we tried.
