I think you might be missing my point, John. Putting the idea in the readers' minds that writing is a tipped position lowers the status of writing from profession to low-skilled job. I published 50 stories on Vocal (which has a tipping option built-in) and never got a single one. The writers who are already making lots of money with tens of thousands of followers are the only ones likely to get a tip.
