I think the laws prohibiting this are wrong, but she knew they existed and hoped they wouldn’t apply to her. She should have consulted an attorney not random folks on the Internet. If neighbors are willing to duel to the death over a fence or a tree, you can bet you’ve a good chance of getting grief over a tiny house. If she had gone through channels in advance, she might have had a chance. Unfortunately, she identified herself as a scofflaw from the outset and that most likely was what tipped the scales in the other direction.
