I think it’s pretty clear that our economy is based on rewarding con artists for their ability to fool others to work for nothing (or very little) and then pocket the income that work produces. It’s true in the arts, politics, journalism (if such a thing exists anymore), most businesses, agriculture, travel, the list goes on. You wanna get rich? Find people who are desperate for something (beauty, attention, fame, self-respect, acceptance, recognition, distraction, knowledge, pain-relief, etc.), convince them you can give it too them and then exploit the hell out of them.
