I suspect some (not all, of course) of the food sensitivities some people voice are imagined. There’s a lot of pressure and advertising around what we eat. For a while there, it seemed everyone had a problem with gluten. But I’ve known people with confirmed gluten intolerance and believe me, it’s extreme. It’s not just a case of, “Gee, I just feel better if I avoid it.” Gluten products often go hand in hand with other ingredients that can upset your digestion like fats and sugars.

I always provide a salad or vegetable option when people have special requirements, and I’d never expect someone to eat anything they are allergic to, but I’m not jumping through hoops if I’m providing a free meal.
