I never thought Vocal contests were rigged in the sense that they were giving prizes to friends or family. However, upon reading some of the winners, I’ve suspected a dartboard might be part of the selection process.

When there’s a sponsor, it’s unlikely anyone whose story doesn’t support that brand’s mission statement or appeal to its key demographics will win. If you want to write marketing material, you could make a lot more money just getting a job doing that.

I wonder if the bulk of those who’ve won multiple times did so last year when there were fewer subscribers. In any case, I checked out of that cheap motel a while ago.
