I live a very quiet life in America. It’s such a big country with many different cultures, beliefs, attitudes, and geographical regions, it’s not possible to define the American experience because it’s different for everyone. I am applying for dual citizenship with Ireland though because the Trump era has made me uneasy. I didn’t know there were so many people who had radically different values from mine. I love my country, but I want options, just in case.
