I Just Discovered a Really Bad Way to Lose Weight, But It Worked
Don’t try this at home, at least not the way I did
Last Saturday I had one of the best meals of my life. It was a “special” at my favorite breakfast place. I usually don’t go for specials, but this sounded intriguing, so I gave it a whirl. In addition, I ordered some fresh-squeezed lemonade, served with an ecologically friendly paper straw. As a result, I was feeling both adventurous and virtuous. Little did I know that the adventure was beginning and not the kind promised by amusement parks.
I can’t believe I ate the whole thing
The meal in question was a hefty breakfast sandwich made with toasted sourdough bread, pastrami, cheese, and an exquisitely fried egg. It was served with au jus sauce for dipping, and it was divine. My husband ordered the same thing. In addition, I had some crispy home fries with ketchup and split a syrup and butter-slathered blueberry pancake with the old man. (He wanted two, but I wisely urged restraint.)
