I hope you’re right, Martin. We’re seeing more people on the right emboldened to challenge the rule of law. A guy in my area has threatened to bring a mob of “strong men" to oust the duly elected school board because he doesn’t like their mask mandate. Three men in Arizona have been arrested and charged with threatening a school principal with zip ties and a citizen’s arrest over the same issue. Is this the hill these jackasses want to die on? The Texas Republicans' biggest mistake in their anti-abortion law is the bounty offered to people to inform on their fellow citizens. There are still plenty of us who remember the stories of what this led to in Hitler’s Germany. It’s a fascist tactic and I think it’s going to give even the average pro-lifer pause.
