I have dual citizenship with Ireland based on ancestry. My grandmother was born there. I applied during the first Trump administration. It took me about a year to assemble all the documents (birth, marriage, death, etc.). Then due to Brexit backlogs and COVID, it took over two years to process. Then it was a few more months to get my passport. I can live and work in any EU country, but I own my house in Pennsylvania, the medical care in my area is excellent, I'm on Medicare and am debt-free. The medical care in my area is excellent. I like where I live. Frankly, Europe is a bit too close to Mr. Putin for my liking, but at least if things get really bad here, I have options.
