I have a very fancy, expensive passport holder and it's a pain in the ass. You always have to remove it when presenting your passport and it also adds bulk, so if you carry it in a hidden pocket or in a purse, there's less room for other stuff. The other ideas are good, although most people use their smart phone cameras. Those who are really into photography and want something fancier usually prefer to choose the camera themselves. The other ideas are great.
