I grew up in a hippie college town in Upstate NY the 1960s and I never recall seeing a Buddah head, just cheap bronze full figure incense holders and concrete garden statues made in the USA. I appreciate art from many cultures but I wouldn't display anything with religious significance unless I practiced that religion and it was appropriate. Symbols of the Christian faith are frequently disrespected with kitsch items here in America, too, like rosaries worn as fashion accessories and paintings of Trump in the image of Jesus. Respect is in short supply everywhere. Thanks for your insight on this important cultural issue.
