I garden and spend a fair amount of time Googling things like “what soil temperature is best for tomatoes” or “how to pinch out sweet peas.” I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve come across multiple articles with word for word text. I suspect most have been pulled from one of the older sources like Dave’s Garden. Poor Dave. Plagiarism is rampant on cooking blogs, too. It’s true that you can’t copyright a recipe, but you can copyright the surrounding text and asides. The pen name scam is a new one to me, but I wouldn’t trust anyone with a pen name who isn’t Mark Twain.
