I find the subscription fee well worth it because I read extensively as well as write on Medium. I never had the confidence to pitch publications on stories and didn’t have much of a portfolio until I started writing on Medium.

For me it’s been a ridiculously cheap way of learning everything I need to know to freelance. I like writing what I want. Yes, I could earn more describing air cleaners or doing real estate blog ghost writing, but I don’t want to.

I’m not promoting the link for membership. It doesn’t make sense for me because the vast majority of my readers already have subscriptions and anyone who doesn’t is already going to be asked to sign up once they meet their free read limit.
