I doubt people would have been as hard on them if both John and Paul hadn’t adopted the “love me, love my wife” policy in their performances. Neither woman had either the talent or universal appeal as performers that their husbands did. It’s unlikely they would have been famous if they hadn’t married a Beatle. It certainly wasn’t Yoko or Linda who broke up the Beatles. They were just there when it happened.
