I don't think any filmmaker, particularly one making a comedy, has a responsibility to conform to anyone's idea of what is "appropriate." What's appropriate is very often the opposite of funny. I don't like a lot of stuff that other people find amusing but that's okay. Sure the premise is absurd and crude but some people go for that. It's not supposed to be educational, it's a movie.
We used to have the Hayes Code where film makers couldn't show a married couple in bed together, even in their pajamas because some people thought it sick and indecent. Is that what you'd like? To impose your moral standards on every motion picture? Who gets to decide? The public. If nobody watches it, they won't make more like it.
