I don’t take any of these articles to heart anymore, Yael. When writers are paid based on engagement and when pissing people off is the best way to get it, we get lots of articles like the one you mention. Writers can no longer be trusted to hold the opinions they put forth because they’re forced to aim for outrage. If we could just learn to ignore them, they’d stop. Unfortunately, it’s hard to do.
