I carry a purse sometimes. It doesn’t bother me in the least. I also buy clothes with pockets but I hate the feeling of stuff in them. I don’t have much in my purse. Even when I wore makeup, I didn’t carry it with me. I currently carry a wallet, glasses wipes, pens, my phone, and my keys in my purse. I carry a bag big enough if I need to have an iPad or script binder with me. In summer, I often take a water bottle with me, too. The only other stuff I might carry is a shopping list or envelopes to mail, occasionally a book. My husband carries his own stuff. He uses a backpack when necessary.
