I agree, Kristi. I don't get the people who say "I'm so happy a newbie won!" The only reason I can think of that anyone would say that is to suck up to our overlords, knowing they will be a lot of grumbling. BTW, one of your essays about death had me weeping on an off for a whole afternoon. I'm not sure if it was entered in the contest, but there should have been a special award for you and the raw heartache and excellent work you've put in over the course of a year.
