How exactly is spending 30% of the time with your children while their father has them 70% of the time “raising them”? It’s ridiculous to claim that she’s proven herself to be competent when she hasn’t been in any position to prove it. She didn’t even have to find her way to homeroom in high school because she didn’t go to a physical school. She got her diploma via distance learning.

People love to paint her dad as some exploitative ogre, but he is providing a service that she would have had to pay someone to do, and they would demand at least as much as he’s getting to manage her career. He’s currently living in an RV in the small town where she grew up. If he was really the exploiter-in-chief, one would expect him to have bought an island in the Caribbean by now.

Yes, the terms of the conservatorship are extreme, but her competency has been regularly reviewed by the court. She reportedly spent a month in a psychiatric facility as recently as 2020. No one outside the case has any business insisting she is or isn’t competent. We don’t know the whole story.

By writing stories like this about Britney Spears, people are not helping her. They’re just trying to make a buck off her. They’re no better than all the others who’ve been doing so for most of her life. I do feel sorry for Britney Spears, but that doesn’t mean I think she should necessarily have things the way she wants them. That’s for the courts to decide.
