Great, well reasoned arguments. I think it’s hysterical that people take this stuff so seriously. Sure “real cases, real people” but it’s also theatrics because it wouldn’t be entertaining otherwise. Judge Judy says out loud what everyone else is thinking. If she’s biased against anything, it’s stupidity.
The people who appear on the show volunteer. They know what it is going to be like going in. Even if they don’t win, they get an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles, an appearance fee of several hundred dollars, a per diem amount, and the producers pay the judgment. It’s a win win for everyone.
Nepotism? Please. Everyone from presidents to hotdog vendors hire their relatives. If I had a business, I probably would, too, and so would the folks pointing fingers.
