Great story, Colleen! You told him exactly what he needed to hear. Unfortunately, he’s incapable of hearing it. The person who thought you were brutal needs to wake up and realize that shielding people from unpleasant truths about themselves isn’t doing them any favors. It sounds as if you did it tactfully and with compassion.
