Every single one was a mental health issue. The 56 year old man felt disrespected by being asked to prove he was old enough to purchase cigarettes. The woman with the checkbook felt the fear that comes with finding out that the world had moved on technologically without her. The woman with the name issue was obsessed with conformity. They all behaved badly but I don’t think they are bad people. They were struggling with the unpleasant reality that we are not in control of much and have to follow other people’s rules to get what we want.
