Every publication I’ve submitted to has guidelines, but then I don’t pursue Medium’s own publications.

This is no place to earn a living wage, that’s true, but I’ve learned a lot from some of the articles on Medium like how to format for people who read on their phones and how to market and grow my audience.

I already could write when I started here, but it inspired me to write every day and that has made a huge difference for me.

I could make a lot more money (and have) by writing and editing stuff for other people. I like Medium because I can write whatever I want. I can publish poetry, fiction, history, how-tos, and opinion and advice pieces. I won’t be here forever, but it’s been a big help to me. I’ll always be grateful for that.
