Mending Hearts

Bleeding hearts in Spring
Die back as summer beckons
They vanish like smoke

Two Lips

First, the crocus blooms
The daffodils soon follow
In their wake: tulips

Spring Spoils

Frangrance is fleeting
When all the daffodils die
Yellowed stalks remain
