Does a mentally stable person act that way in public? Is this typical of people in general? It’s not a case of “rewarding” her behavior. Elphick is not a toddler. The fact that she was acting like one would prompt a reasonable person to realize that something’s wrong with her. I, and imagine you, too, would want to de-escalate the situation and back off.
