Conservatives like to argue that our working lives should be extended because few of us do hard manual labor anymore and healthcare is better and more accessible. But by 65, our bodies are beginning to fail, no matter what we do for a living. The hearing goes, the eyesight, the joints, etc. Three of my active, generally healthy friends who were not over weight and who exercised regularly have had strokes. I think most of us want a few good years to do whatever strikes our fancy before the wheels fall off entirely.
