Amazing Story: Wedding Ring Lost for Decades Found in Plain Sight
You’ll get chills when you hear the rest of this delightful tale
Do our desires die with us, or do they hang around long after we do? If you’ve ever lost something precious, you know how badly you wanted to get it back. Maybe you prayed or made a deal with God that if he helped you find what you’d lost, you’d be a better person in the future.
In the Roman Catholic tradition I grew up in, we used to pray to St. Anthony, the patron saint of lost things, whenever we misplaced something special. There are various versions of the prayer, which is more of a folk remedy than anything handed down by the Vatican. Here’s the one I know:
Something’s lost that can’t be found,
Please, St. Anthony, look around.
Whether it’s St Anthony’s intervention or the focusing of intention that does the trick, I’ve found the St. Anthony prayer to be amazingly effective.
But this story isn’t about a saint saving the day; at least, I don’t think it is. Instead, it’s about the enduring power of love and the chance that, just maybe, our hopes, dreams, and desires live long after we’ve breathed our last.
